First Anniversary Shindig
January 27th, 2013
First Unitarian Church
Awarded funds:  $1,350
Winner:  Educational Justice

posSOUPbility turned 1 in January!  We celebrated with another TREMENDOUS event and near record in attendance...150+!  Thank you for a great 1st year, Louisville!  We're really feeling the love :)

Three awesome presentations were delivered and guests once again found it extremely challenging to pick just one winner...but they did.

Educational Justicea non-profit focused on providing tutoring resources to under-served students, swept the vote and walked away with $1,350 to fund college scholarships for deserving high school student mentors.  Just awesome.

Attendees heard from Good Garbage a creative re-use center that collects surplus and waste items to repurpose them as artists' materials, and Compassion Trackers, a movement to collect anecdotal information and data on local citizens who complete acts of compassion, both of whom are also doing fantastic work in the community.

Special thanks to Wiltshire Pantry for providing a delicious soup and to Comfy Cow once again for satisfying our addiction to artisanal ice cream, even in the dead of winter.
